Refining the Decline Refining the Decline is a study of the Back Bay Fens, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted. I am photographing areas of human intervention, paired with layered images of multiple aspects of the same environment. There are hints of natural growth throughout the man-made landscape, however due to stagnation of the waterways, there is an apparent degradation taking place as well. It reminds me that human expansion is both positive and negative, and that I am simultaneously contributing to both sides as well.
